Context of the research activity
In the last decades, the service robotics and the assistive technologies have reached an important global role. In the robotic field, the mobile platforms are of fundamental importance, as well as, the wheelchairs in the field of the assistive technologies. The mobile platforms and wheelchairs need specific mechanical characteristics in order to optimise their specific tasks.
In this context, the presented research primarily focuses on the design and prototyping of mobile platforms and wheelchairs.
